About the practice

I host adult rhythm circles that combine guided patterns, call and response, and room for quiet listening. People may bring a drum or borrow one of mine; no musical background is expected. I keep groups small enough to offer individual help and provide earplugs at every gathering. My preparation includes community arts facilitation, frame-drum study, and ongoing training in culturally respectful practice. I explain the origin of rhythms when known and avoid presenting borrowed traditions as my own. The Cape Town room has chairs, open floor space, and step-free entry.
